North American Open 2009

The 2009 North American Open was held at Ballys Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, from December 26-29, 2009.

Grandmaster Varuzhan Akobian was crowned the North American Open 2009 Champion after finishing with 5½/7 and having better tie-breaks than four other Grandmasters who also had the same score, Josh Friedel, Alex Shabalov, Victor Mikhalevski and Alex Yermolinsky.
