6th Annual Philadelphia Open
The 6th Annual Philadelphia Open will take place over the Easter week from April 4-8, 2012, at the upscale, luxury Loews Philadelphia Hotel, rated Four Diamonds by AAA, 1200 Market Street, Philadelphia. The event has a $80,000 projected prize fund with $60,000 guaranteed!
GM Magesh Panchanathan finished atop the standings in the Open Section with 7/9. Panchanathan beat GM Tamaz Gelashvili in the final round to secure victory after the other GMs that were tied with him going into the round all drew. There was a logjam of GMs just a half-point behind the leader.
